Clinical Clerkship

In the clinical rotations at Universidad de los Andes students will have the opportunity to put in practice their medical basic knowledge. The Clinical Rotations enable students to have a hands-on experience at different medical specialties of their choice at different teaching hospitals according to the rotation.  Our rotations include internal medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, anesthesia, orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology and obstetrics, urology, oncology, neurology, emergency medicine, physical rehabilitation, among others. The students will be supervised by teaching physicians and during the rotations will be able to elaborate patient histories, do physical examinations, write progress notes, review topics specific to the rotation and assist in medical procedures.

• Personal Statement of Intent, detail your academic background, medical experiences and the clinical rotations done so far. Please describe your motivations for coming to the school of medicine at Universidad de los Andes. 

Requirements prior to the start of the clerkship:

1.       Health Care Insurance 

2.       Malpractice Insurance.

3.       Copy of your University ID.

4.       Must show proof of required immunizations:

5.       Positive Varicella (Chicken Pox) titer

6.       Positive Hepatitis B titer

7.       Tdap vaccine (Tetanus+Diptheria+Whooping Cough)

8.       Positive measles titer or evidence of 2 MMR vaccines

9.       Copy of high school diploma or degree certificate.

10.     Copy of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
